We started Foxory with a simple belief: software should respect the people who use it. Not their attention, not their time, not their wallet. Lancely is the first product that tests whether we actually mean it.
The problem we kept hitting
Most freelancer tools were designed for the US or EU. They assume your tax setup is simple, your invoices look the same, and your clients pay through whatever payment rail the SaaS happens to support.
Freelancing in the UAE — and honestly, in most of the world outside Silicon Valley — looks different. You're dealing with 5% VAT that has to land on the invoice in a very specific way. You're chasing payments across bank transfers, not Stripe. You're managing clients in WhatsApp, quotes in PDFs, invoices in Excel, projects in Notion, and time in… your head.
Every freelancer we talked to was doing the same thing: stitching together four or five apps that were each designed for someone else's workflow.
What Lancely will be
Lancely is a focused workspace for freelancers. Not a do-everything platform. Not an AI-everywhere chatbot. A small, calm set of tools that handles the boring side of freelancing so you can spend more time on the work that actually pays.
- Client directory — every client, contact, and conversation in one place.
- Quotation builder — professional quotes in minutes, with templates that match your brand.
- Invoices with UAE VAT logic — tax-compliant, exportable, no Excel gymnastics.
- Project tracking — plan and follow projects without drowning in tabs.
- Designed to feel like a single tool, not a stack.
What we won't do
We're not going to add a feature for every request. We're not going to bolt on a generative AI panel because it's fashionable. We're not going to launch before it's actually good. And we're not going to pretend the product is further along than it is — that's why every milestone is on the public roadmap.
Built in public, on purpose
We're documenting what we ship, what we cut, and what we learn. The Recently Shipped strip on the homepage updates as we go. The Discord is where we share early drafts and ask the audience questions before we commit to a direction.
If any of this resonates — if you've ever stared at three browser tabs trying to recreate an invoice in the right format — we'd love for you to join the beta waitlist. We'll send you something when Lancely is ready for real users.
Until then, watch this space.
